Traffic Stop Yields 105 Pounds of Meth and 12 pounds of Fentanyl

After receiving information regarding a vehicle transporting narcotics in our area, the Medford Area Drug and Gang Enforcement team, a multi-jurisdictional narcotics task force including the Medford Police Department, Jackson County Sheriff’s Office, Homeland Security Investigations and the FBI, intercepted the vehicle along I-5 outside of Ashland, Tuesday, January 16th.

With the assistance of the Oregon State Police), investigators stopped the suspect vehicle allegedly transporting large amounts of narcotics into the area and Medford Police K9 “Bodie” alerted to the presence of narcotics.

A search warrant was then obtained, and a subsequent search of the vehicle by authorities yielded 105 pounds of methamphetamine and 12 pounds of fentanyl.

31 year old Bernardo Cruz Lopez-Ramos was arrested on charges of Unlawful Possession and Distribution of Methamphetamine – Commercial Drug Offense, and Unlawful Possession and Distribution of Fentanyl – Commercial Drug Offense.
