Two Caught with 1/2 lb. of Heroin Worth $13,000

On Wednesday, April 3rd, at around 5:00 PM, detectives with the Rogue Area Drug Enforcement Team (RADE) stopped Gabriel Manuel Rivera and Monique Quiroz after it was discovered they were bringing heroin to Grants Pass, OR via Sacramento, CA.

It was determined the heroin was going to be distributed throughout Grants Pass and Josephine County. Seized during the stop was over a 1/2 pound of heroin, $1800 dollars in cash and drug notes.

Street value of the heroin seized is estimated to be around $13,000 dollars. This investigation is ongoing. RADE was assisted by GPDPS, OSP and Homeland Security Investigators. Both Rivera and Quiroz were lodged at the Josephine County Jail.
