U.S. Coast Guard Retrieves Commercial Fishing Vessel Over 20 Miles Off Oregon Coast

Very early Friday morning, February 18th, U.S. Coast Guard Station Coos Bay responded to a disabled commercial fishing vessel approximately 19 nautical miles southwest of Port Orford.

U.S. Coast Guard Station Coos Bay was alerted and dispatched a 47′ Motor Lifeboat to the disabled and adrift 69 ft. commercial fishing vessel Bernadette, at approximately 1:00am Friday morning.

Retrieving the disabled vessel 19 nautical miles southwest of Port Orford, totaled more than 18 hours, requiring a second Motor Lifeboat crew for relief, as the crews towed the disabled vessel throughout the night and into the next day in heavy weather conditions.
