7.1 Quake Strikes Off Japan’s Eastern Coast Saturday Morning

A 7.1 magnitude quake struck off the eastern coast of Japan approximately 45 miles east of Fukishima, Japan, early Saturday morning just after 6:00am local time.

The 7.1 earthquake was recorded at 6:07am at a depth of 36 miles. It was followed by two aftershocks of 5.5 at 6:51am and another 4.4 at 8:32am with yet another 5.2 quake slightly north and east of the 7.1 quake struck at 10:25am.

No Tsunami was generated by the temblor, and no Tsunami Warnings were issued.
