Bruin Girls Outmatched Against North Valley

After splitting a Thursday afternoon double-header against Hwy. 101 rival Del Norte Lady Warriors, followed by another double-header Saturday afternoon against a strong Mazama team, the Bruin girls perhaps showed some fatigue Tuesday afternoon.

The Bruin girls hosted the North Valley Lady Knights, who made the trip from Grants Pass to play the Bruin girls in the first game of a three game series.

The 13-4 Lady Knights started the game by putting runners on the bases, attacking the the Bruin girls defense, and taking an early four run lead in the top half of first. The Bruin girls would fail to answer giving the Lady Knights an early lead.

North Valley would continue to build on their aggressive gameplan, getting runners on the basepaths and pressuring the Bruin girls defense into mistakes while putting up crooked numbers in their half of every inning, building a comfortable lead.

The Bruin girls just could not find their bats, going into the final innings without scoring throughout as North Valley went into the later innings with a 0-10 lead.

Errors and mental mistakes haunted the Bruin girls throughtout the game, keeping them from any rhythm as well as off the scoreboard as North Valley took the first game of the series, 11-0.

The Bruin girls will be on the road this Friday, making the trip to Grants Pass to take on the North Valley Lady Knights and complete the three game series with first pitch scheduled for 2:00pm.
