Individual with Warrants for His Arrest, Leads Officers on High Speed Chase and Crash

On Thursday, June 1st, at about 5:40pm, a subject known to them to have warrants for his arrest was observed by a Medford Police officer in an apartment complex off of Table Rock Road.  

Officers had information that this suspect may be armed and when the officer attempted to conduct a traffic stop on the vehicle, the subject attempted to elude the officer at a high rate of speed.  

The officer did not pursue, and the vehicle was spotted moments later by other responding Medford Police officers traveling at a high rate of speed northbound on Table Rock Road.  

The driver left the northbound lanes and crashed head on with a vehicle traveling southbound on Table Rock Road, flipping into the front yard of a residence at the corner of Table Rock Rd, Merriman Rd.  

The driver of the suspect vehicle, identified as 35 year old Daniel Ledezma, left the two injured passengers of the crash behind and was spotted multiple times fleeing through the nearby neighborhood as a large perimeter was set as Medford Police units searched the area, including use the implementation of a police K9 and police drones.  

Just before 8:00pm, the suspect was located hiding up a tree in the neighborhood near the crash site, and was taken into custody without incident.  

The passengers of the suspect vehicle were transported to a local hospital with significant injuries. The sole occupant of the victim vehicle was also transported to the hospital with minor injuries.  

Daniel Ledezma was lodged at the Jackson County Jail on the charges of Assault 2, Vehicular x3, Attempting to Elude and for his outstanding warrants and possible additional charges are pending.
