Investigation into Child Neglect Yields Explosives, Narcotics, Firearms and Two Arrests

On Friday, December 22nd, while conducting an investigation on a Coos County property deputies developed information that a minor child on the property was being subject to neglect and criminal mistreatment.  

As a result of the investigation, a search warrant for the property was secured and at 2:00pm, deputies, along with members from DHS Child Services, and Bay Cities Ambulance, responded to the property on West Beaver Hill for service of the search warrant.  

During the search, several items, including multiple explosive devices, narcotics, firearms, body armor, and ammunition were located and a young child was also found and removed from the home by DHS Child Services.  

37 year old Ryan W. Woolman and 26 year old Megan N. Woolman were arrested on several charges. Ryan was charged with Possession of a Destructive Device, Felon in Possession of a firearm, Felon in Possession of Body Armor, Criminal Mistreatment I, and Endangering the Welfare of a Minor.  

Megan was charged with Possession of a Destructive Device, Criminal Mistreatment I, and Endangering the Welfare of a Minor. Both subjects were transported to the Coos County Jail, where they were booked and are currently in custody.  

The Oregon State Police Bomb Squad was contacted about the explosive devices. The Bomb Squad responded and disposed of the items per their protocol.
