Man Arrested in Gold Hill for Attempted Murder

On Friday morning, March 23rd, deputies from the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to reports of a man chasing another man with a knife in a trailer park near Ray’s Food Place in Gold Hill just before 8:30am.  

According to reports, the suspect reportedly broke into a residence in the trailer park to confront the victim initially. The suspect then chased the victim on foot and later with the suspect’s vehicle.

First responding deputies arriving on scene intervened by initiating a traffic stop on the suspect vehicle.

The suspect, identified as 31 year old Joseph Paul Dinucci of Medford, attempted to throw his knife away before being taken into custody.

Further investigation by deputies revealed the suspect confronted the victim who is in a relationship with an ex-girlfriend of the suspect. The victim was not injured.  

Dinucci was taken into custody and is lodged at Jackson County Jail on multiple charges including Attempted Murder, Attempted Assault 1, Attempted Assault 2 w/ a vehicle, Unlawful Use of a Deadly Weapon, Burglary 1,  Reckless Driving; and Harassment.
