Oregon Adds 11,849 New COVID-19 Cases in Past Week

On October 6th, Governor Kate Brown announced her plan to deploy a huge influx of rapid COVID-19 tests from the federal government and that Oregon would be receiving 60,000 to 80,000 COVID-19 rapid tests per week until the end of the year.

On October 6th, Oregon had tested 711,633 individuals and had identified 35,340 total COVID-19 cases in the state.

As of Friday, December 11th, Oregon had tested 2,242,771 Electronic Laboratory Reports and had identified 128,170 positive COVID-19 Electronic Laboratory Reports.

With all of the COVID-19 restrictions and closures, positive COVID-19 results continue to rise and the areas that surround Portland continue to hold a sixty percent of these new cases. Of the 2,242,771, 0.057%, or 128,870 Electronic Laboratory Reports have tested positive for COVID-19 in the state of Oregon. Also, .0024% or 5,395 of these individuals who have tested positive have been hospitalized, with .00050%, or 1,138 individuals who have unfortunately passed away due to complications from COVID-19 in the state of Oregon.

Curry County’s latest report Friday, December 11th, now reports testing 4,347 individuals with 4,215 negative tests, and now has 51 active confirmed cases of COVID-19, 186 total positive tests and has recorded 2 deaths since the beginning of the pandemic.

Del Norte County Department of Health and Human Services reported testing 11,065 individuals with 10,529 negative results, 122 active cases and 536 total confirmed cases reported by Public Health, with 10 current hospitalizations and 1 death.

Humboldt County to the south of Del Norte County reports 1,231 total cases, adding 381 new CoVID-19 cases in the past week after testing 48,870 individuals with now 307 active cases, 914 recoveries, 56 hospitalizations, and 10 deaths since the beginning of the pandemic as of Friday, December 11th.

Coos County to the north, reported testing 19,552 individuals with 18,296 negative tests, adding 55 new cases of COVID-19 in the past week with now 626 total positive cases and 4 deaths since the beginning of the pandemic.

Josephine County reports testing 26,840 individuals with 26,122 negative results, adding 147 new cases in the past week, 571 total positive cases of COVID-19 and 9 deaths.

Jackson County continues to see significant increases after reporting another 668 new cases of COVID-19 this past week after testing 107,195 individuals with 101,386 negative test results, 5,809 total cases of COVID-19 and 13 new deaths in the past week now totaling 48 deaths as of Friday, December 11th.
