Traffic Stop Yields 1.5 pounds of Meth and 55 grams of Fentanyl

Agents from the Humboldt County Drug Task Force with the Fortuna Police Department served a search warrant on a Fortuna man after a traffic stop on his vehicle.

On Saturday, August 19th, Agents observed 58 year old David Scott Fournier from Fortuna, travel from Humboldt County to Sacramento, California.  

K9 Officer Blitz

Upon Fournier’s return to Humboldt County, Agents conducted a traffic stop on his vehicle and a Fortuna Police Officer and K9 Officer Blitz, conducted an open-air sniff on the vehicle. K9 Officer Blitz alerted to the vehicle indicating drugs were present.

Inside the vehicle Agents located 1.5 pounds of methamphetamine, 55 grams of Fentanyl, and one functioning digital scale.

David Scott Fournier was transported to the Humboldt County Correctional Facility where he was booked on multiple charges including, Possession of Fentanyl for Purposes of Sales, Transportation of Fentanyl for Purposes of Sales, Transportation of Fentanyl Through Noncontiguous Counties, Possession of Methamphetamine for Purposes of Sales, Transportation of Methamphetamine for Purposes of Sales, and Transportation of Methamphetamine Through Noncontiguous Counties
