Weekend Forecast Calls for Various Freeze Warnings Before Heavy Rains Move in Across the Region

A front of very cold air, pushing south into the region from the north, and a low pressure system to the south, are forecast to generate additional, localized scattered rain showers as well as isolated mountain snow into Friday as another strong system is expected to approach Friday evening, with possibilities of heavy precipitation into the day Saturday.

Various Freeze and hard Freeze Warnings and Advisories are in effect for coastal regions from Reedsport Oregon, to Point Arena California, as well interior portions of southwestern Oregon and northwestern California as temperatures in colder interior valleys could dip as low as the mid-20s Friday morning.  

Portions of northern coastal California and southern Oregon could receive as much as 1-2 inches of rain with several inches of snow likely for higher elevations, particularly portions of the southern Cascades.
